Alpina
The Alpina watch brand was founded in 1883 by Gottlieb Hauser in Switzerland. Hauser saw a need for high-quality, reliable watches for sports and outdoor activities, and he founded Alpina to meet this need. In 1938, he introduced the “Alpina 4” concept, which established the four essential principles for a true sports watch. The “Alpina 4” watches became popular with sportsmen, adventurers, and the military, and the company achieved widespread success in the decades that followed. However, the rise of mass-produced, inexpensive watches in the 1970s had a negative impact on Alpina and many other Swiss mechanical watchmakers. Despite these challenges, Alpina remained an independent company and made a comeback in 2002. Today, Alpina is known for producing high-quality, sporty watches for a wide range of activities.
