Panerai

Panerai is an Italian luxury watch brand founded in 1860 by Giovanni Panerai. The company originally operated as a watchmaker and supplier of precision instruments, including marine chronometers, to the Italian Navy. In the 1930s, Panerai developed a line of wristwatches for the Italian Navy, which were known for their large size and highly legible dials. These watches, which were produced in very limited quantities, became popular among collectors in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1993, Panerai was acquired by the Richemont Group and began producing watches for the civilian market, incorporating many of the design elements from the original Navy watches. Today, Panerai is known for its large, sporty watches with distinctive designs, including the Luminor and Radiomir collections.
