Pocket watches might not be exactly in vogue right now, but that hasn’t always been so.
Less than a century ago, a watch like this one would have been hanging inside a fellow commuter’s coat pocket. The years since this was the case haven’t left it unscathed, but they have lent it a beautiful, venerable patina. The latter might be interpreted as a fortunate aesthetic flourish or a poignant reminder of Father Time’s unceasing march. Fitting, since this kind of piece would very likely have belonged to a doctor, who would have used the chronograph complication to measure his patients’ vitals.
This Pierce pocket chronograph dates to the early to mid 1940s and is in good cosmetic condition. It is powered by the brand’s in-house cal. 134, which was serviced by our watchmaker in 10.2020 and is in perfect functional condition.
