Panerai Ferrari Chronograph 45 Limited edition ref. FER00008 – Box & Papers, New Rubber strap

In 1860 Officine Panerai started life as a watchmaker’s shop where the brand’s founder, Giovani Panerai, also sold maritime equipment. Years later, in the early 1900s, the brand became the official supplier for the Italian Frogmen, who famously used its watches – partially designed and produced by Rolex SA – to time and synchronize their attacks on docked enemy ships. As you can imagine, a dependable and legible underwater instrument was an absolute must for the Frogmen, and that is exactly what Panerai provided. The brand also supplied the Royal Italian Navy with all manner of technical equipment and precision instruments, thus further cementing its place in the history of professional watches.
Now take Panerai’s expertise and heritage and sprinkle in a bit of that Ferrari flavor – The Ferrari Chronograph is what you get, and it is one hell of a watch. It somehow manages to keep true to Panerai’s design language – the case is even somewhat reminiscent of the iconic Luminor case – while simultaneously giving off its own distinct feel. The automotive inspiration behind the watch is made immediately obvious by the dashboard-like black dial, which comes adorned with Ferrari-yellow chronograph and subdial hands. Even the Panerai script has given its place to the Ferrari logo. Covered by a solid steel caseback engraved with the unmistakable Ferrari prancing horse, the Panerai caliber OP XII is ticking steadily.
Our offering is in excellent condition – polished and serviced by the previous owner in early 2021 – comes in a set of the Yellow Ferrari box and all the papers, and is outfitted with a brand new original rubber strap. Ticking per specs.
