With all the noise around Omega’s sports watches, it’s easy to forget that divers and chronographs aren’t what originally made the brand famous. As a matter of fact, the universally-celebrated Seamaster started life as a decidedly dressier timepiece, and so did its more luxurious variation, the Seamaster De Ville. However, due to the Seamaster’s modern transformation, Omega assigned the De Ville name to a more refined and elegant collection of timepieces, and thus the De Ville came to embody all the qualities that the Seamaster no longer could.
The De Ville Prestige Co-Axial Chronometer ref. 424.53.40.20.02.002 features an impressive two-zone silver dial with applied gold Roman numerals at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions and applied gold baton indices in between. The slender sword-shaped hands are quite reminiscent of those on vintage Seamaster models, and so is the 18k gold case with its simple lines and sleek silhouette. The date display is positioned at the 3 o’clock position and is the only interruption to the overall symmetry of the classic design. Inside, the in-house caliber 2500 is confidently ticking away.
Our offering is brand new and comes in a complete set of boxes and papers.
The watch is covered by 2 years of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
