Breitling Chronomat Evolution Chronometer ref. B13356 – Gold & Steel, Blue dial, Polished

Breitling SA was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling – a passionate and innovative watchmaker known for his sharp business sense. In 1915 – barely a year after he had passed – his son, Gaston, proved he had inherited his father’s pioneering spirit by introducing one of the first-ever wrist chronographs with a separate push-piece above the crown. The brand’s innovations continued well into the following decades, and in 1952 – with Willy Breitling in the driver’s (or rather pilot’s) seat – the Navitimer made its debut. The model proved extremely popular among pilots and aircraft manufacturers and would later come to signify the beginning of Breitling’s avionic legacy. This legacy, however, started even earlier, in 1941, with the introduction of the Chronomat – the first watch to feature the slide-rule bezel that the Navitimer would become known for.
The watch on offer here, the Chronomat Evolution, represents a contemporary, in this case quite luxurious take on the iconic model. Its design is immediately recognizable as bearing all of Breitling’s visual and functional staples, such as the distinct brushed steel bezel with riders fashioned out of gold and the mirror-polished Chronomat case, but the addition of gold elements across the latter and the dial makes it stand out from other iterations. The deep blue dial serves as the perfect backdrop for the glistening gold indices, hands, and subdials, lending this timepiece an aura that has to be experienced to be understood fully.
Inside, behind the stamped caseback, the Breitling cal. B13 is ticking accurately away, protected by its versatile, masterfully-constructed casing.
The watch was just polished and is in excellent cosmetic condition. It comes with its original box, regrettably without any papers. Ticking per specs.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year.
