Vintage Omega 14k Yellow Gold ref. OJ 2368 in Immaculate condition – 1948, Extract from the Archives, Serviced

This rare Omega – ref. OJ 2368 – dates back to the late-1940s.
According to the archive extract kindly provided by Omega, the watch was delivered to an AD in Egypt sometime in 1948. It is made of 14k solid yellow gold and is in remarkable condition. The case has never been polished, so the fancy lugs retain all their original edges as well as the hairline finish on their sides. The dial has never been restored and has acquired an even caramel patina around its rose gold hour markers. Every detail on the watch is entirely original, including the branded crown – a rarity in itself. The beads-of-rice bracelet, on the other hand, isn’t original to this model but is nevertheless from the same period. It’s also fashioned out of solid gold but comes in a slightly different shade of yellow.
As per the Extract from the Archives, the watch is powered by the manually-wound in-house cal. 260 – which is the name Omega uses for their well known cal. 30T2 after 1948. It was serviced in 12.2020 by our master watchmaker and is ticking perfectly.

The watch is the larger example of the Ronde Solo family – the XL 42 mm ref. 3802 (also known as WSRN0022). This line up preserves the perfectly pitched classical elegance and signature Cartier features of the Ronde Louis Cartier watch that serves as its inspiration: Roman numerals, blued-steel sword-shaped hands and rail-track minute circle. The model here also features a 42 mm steel case, a Cartier automatic movement – cal. 49 (ETA cal. 2892-A2 based), the emblematic beaded crown set with a synthetic cabochon-shaped spinel, silvered opaline dial with a date window at 3 o’clock and a sapphire crystal. The strap is grained calfskin in one of their signature colors – Lie de vin, with quick change option and the steel double adjustable folding buckle. Our offering is in superb condition without any signs of use and is ticking as per specs. Comes in a very full set – all the boxes, papers and booklets.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
