In 1977, in celebration of its 222nd birthday, Vacheron Constantin unveiled the now-legendary reference 222. The anniversary model improved upon the aesthetic and technical attributes associated with sports watches in the 1970s, and it would later serve as the direct inspiration behind much of the brand’s modern lineup, including the beautiful timepiece on offer here – the ladies’ Overseas ref. 25250/D01A-9123.
The assertive design codes of the Overseas are its defining characteristic. Amplified by its uncompromising functionality and ergonomic profile, they make it the perfect companion. Being a ladies’ watch, this version of the model measures an elegant 34 mm in diameter and comes outfitted with a graceful yet sturdy stainless steel bracelet designed after the Maltese cross (Vacheron’s logo). The silver dial features a stunning guilloché texture and is adorned with applied Roman numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions and applied trapezoid indices at the rest, with a date display between 4 & 5 o’clock tastefully disrupting its symmetry. The case employs a mixture of finely brushed and mirror-polished surfaces that, together with the iconic notched bezel, highlight the watch’s intricate architecture. Hidden behind the sailing ship motif engraved into the caseback, the 7-jewel Quartz caliber 1207 is confidently ticking away.
Our offering was just professionally polished and is in excellent cosmetic condition. It comes with its original box and papers, but without the holder for the latter.
The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
