CVSTOS Challenge for GP Chronograph Ocean Blue One of Fifteen Limited edition – Full set

There’s hardly been a shortage of emerging brands that claim to be involved in Haute Horlogerie as of late, but CVSTOS stands out from them all. The company’s name (which comes from the Latin word for Guardian) communicates its passionate devotion to the art of traditional watchmaking, and so does its slogan – The Time Keeper. Traditionalism, however, doesn’t prevent them from being uniquely innovative.

CVSTOS’s timepieces are hand-crafted in a mid-sized atelier located in Geneva’s Saint Gervais district. It is housed in a classic shop-fronted building at the foot of Rue Voltaire, where the brand’s Operations department is also located. The building’s ground floor is home to a concept store that is used to host exclusive soirées, where only a CVSTOS watch can grant one access. While this certainly boosts the perceived exclusivity of the brand, its masterfully crafted creations more than live up to the image it strives to project. The watch on offer here is just one such creation.
This CVSTOS Challenge for GP Chronograph showcases a masterful blend of traditional watchmaking and cutting-edge design.
In much the same way, its steel case showcases an equally impressive combination of brushed and polished surfaces covered in black PVD. As your eyes have surely already informed you, its geometry is somewhat reminiscent of a Richard Mille, but it clearly stands out as its own thing. At 41 mm in diameter and 15 mm thick, the Challenge for GP is smaller than most of the brand’s offerings, allowing for a dapper look and comfortably fitting wrists of most sizes. The crown is fitted with a rubber lining that provides additional grip and complements the blue accents. The skeletonized dial proudly showcases the cal. CVSTOS 577 inside, but the exhibition caseback provides a much better vista. The in-house movement was thoroughly inspected by our watchmaker and found to be ticking per spec.

Our offering is in very good condition, with some minor scratches here and there, but nothing too deep or worrying, the only thing worth mentioning the back side of one the pushers – it was dinged at some point and its somewhat warped (functions properly, but the steel shows under the coating. Comes in a full set of boxes and papers, and is outfitted with its original integrated rubber strap. Ticking per specs.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.

All our watches undergo a thorough inspection and are sold in fully-authentic condition. Naturally, this includes all external and internal components. They are also serviced where needed and tested for waterproofness where it applies.

Vintage watches are checked against our database of original examples to ensure no components have been replaced or tampered with over the years, and they are serviced using strictly OEM parts. It’s no secret that most vintage watches sold online are re-dialed, overpolished, or feature movement parts with questionable origins, and those are all practices we sincerely abhor.

You can rest assured that any exceptions to the above will be disclosed in the respective timepiece’s descriptive text.

  • Some new watches might be covered by Manufacturer warranty, usually activated upon purchase and valid to any AD (Authorized Dealer) – please check the specific description of the watch you are buying.
  • For vintage watches (we consider any watch older than 20 years vintage) time keeping is guaranteed within reasonable limits – ±20 sec/day, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the item’s description.
