Bucherer
Bucherer (Bucherer Montres SA) is a Swiss watch holding company that nowadays operates the retail operations of Bucherer and Tourneau, as well as the watch brand, Carl F. Bucherer. The company was founded in 1888 by Carl-Friedrich Bucherer, who opened his first watch and jewelry store in Lucerne.
Notably in the 1950s, Bucherer expanded its presence in the Swiss and European watch markets, opening new stores in cities including Bern, Geneva, and Zurich. The company also started offering a wider range of high-quality watches under their own branding, including both men’s and women’s timepieces.
During the 60s, 70s and 1980s Bucherer continued to grow and establish itself as a leading player in the watch industry. In addition to opening new stores and expanding its product line, the company also focused on developing its own in-house watch movements and collaborating with other leading watchmakers to produce innovative timepieces.
