Armand Nicolet Tramelan J09 Day-Date ref. 9650A-NR-PK2420 NR – 2018, Full set, Superb condition

Armand Nicolet is a Swiss manufacturer that keeps very quiet about its history, sources of inspiration, and self-assumed mission. Sure, their website does mention that they were founded in Tramelan in 1875, but they avoid extolling their virtues and qualities via superlatives, marketing campaigns, and sponsorships. In other words, Armand Nicolet lets their timepieces do the talking. Unsurprisingly, this is precisely is the case with the day-date J09.
Blending the old and the new – the traditional and the modern – the JO9 is a thoroughly contemporary timepiece that seems like a combination of something we very much know with something we have never seen before. J09 is actually just the name for this style of case, which does indeed deserve its fair bit of attention for being completely original and unlike anything else out there. That in itself is quite an achievement in today’s market, and, coupled with an inventive dial design, it makes for a truly compelling timepiece. Every millimetre of this watch is well crafted and masterfully finished, and the brilliant movement housed within – the cal. AN 2846-9 – is the cherry on top.
