In 1884, the renowned watchmaker Léon Breitling founded Breitling SA, leaving an enduring legacy that combined his passion for horology with his sharp business acumen. A mere year after his passing in 1915, his son Gaston, a true inheritor of his father’s pioneering spirit, introduced one of the first wrist chronographs featuring a separate push-piece above the crown. In 1952, with Willy Breitling at the helm, the iconic Navitimer made its debut. This model quickly became a favorite among pilots and aircraft manufacturers, marking the genesis of Breitling’s illustrious aviation legacy.

This watch boasts a polished stainless steel case measuring an impressive 48 mm in diameter, making it one of Breitling’s most substantial creations. Remarkably, it gracefully adorns smaller wrists too, although it is certainly no dainty 36mm timepiece. Atop the case rests the unmistakable unidirectional bezel, characterized by its dynamic geometry and fine satin finish, which beautifully contrasts with the smooth, polished case and bracelet. The pitch-black dial provides a contrasting backdrop for the applied steel indices and sword hands, subtly accentuated by tasteful hints of red.
