Vintage Universal Genève Polerouter Date ref. 869115/05 – Serviced, on UG GF Bracelet, Screw-down crown

First introduced in 1954, the Universal Geneve Polerouter was worn by SAS pilots flying the Polar route for the first time in the history of commercial air flight. That’s also where the iconic model gets its name. Its remarkable purpose played a part in its iconic status, yes, but it also owes a lot to having been designed by the legendary Gerald Genta and having been manufactured by one of, if not the most respected and influential watch brand in the history of horology. To put it bluntly, it was fated to become a horological icon.

And indeed, few designs are as recognizable as the Polerouter’s twisted, flowing lugs and elegant silhouette, and few movements are held in such high regard as the bumper caliber 138 and the later micro-rotor caliber 251 and cal. 1-69.
The example on offer here is in very good condition and comes outfitted with its original bracelet. One of the end links is not original, but as far as any unoriginal parts or tampering is concerned, that’s it. The timepiece is very fresh and well-preserved, and it makes it exceedingly easy to appreciate why Universal Geneve is so beloved.
The beautiful in-house caliber 1-69 that powers this exceptional timepiece was just serviced in 04.2022 by our watchmaker and is keeping good time.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
