With Elegance & Technology as its guiding priciples, the Oceanus Manta pursues flawless finishing and thin, beautiful forms, but it backs them up with cutting-edge functionality achieved through high-tech means.
The watch’s 9.5 mm thin profile highlights the slim silhouette of its Titanium case, and the DLC-coating that covers it makes it exceptionally resistant to wear and tear. The latter also sets the tone for its black-on-black colorway, which is broken up by a drop of blue here and there that underscores its high-tech aura. The latter is further underlined by the remarkable Sallaz polishing (a technique similar to Grand Seiko’s Zaratsu polishing) on the case and bracelet.
As can be expected, what Casio has achieved in the technical department is even more impressive than the aesthetic side of things. More specifically, the watch can adjust to world time from approximately 300 cities and automatically change the time zone and daylight saving time accordingly. In addition to time correction by Multi-Band 6 radio wave reception, the watch can also check the time against that of a smartphone via Bluetooth.
