Girard Perregaux Casquette 2.0 Ceramic & Titanium ref. 39800-32-001-32A Limited edition of 820 pieces

Between 1976 and 1978 – in the heat of the quartz crisis – Girard-Perregaux released the original Casquette in a limited run of 8200 pieces. Since the watch was aimed at the budding motorsports market, its ergonomics were configured in such a way as to enable the wearer to tell the time without taking his hand off the steering wheel. Its rarity, cutting-edge sci-fi aesthetic, and imaginative purpose made it exceedingly popular among collectors, so it was only natural that GP would one day create the watch we have the pleasure of offering here – the Casquette 2.0.
Released in an even more exclusive run of just 820 pieces, the Casquette 2.0 follows the design language of its iconic predecessor to the letter, but it gets two major upgrades to boot! Its case is the more obvious one – the 2.0 comes clad in ceramic and grade 5 titanium, which gives it superior scratch and wears resistance while also adding a pleasing bit of weight to the formula. The second upgrade, however, is hidden away, protected by the resilient outer shell – the caliber GP3980. It displays hours, minutes, seconds, days, dates, months, years, chronograph, second timezone, and secret date. The latter can be shown on a specific date – a wedding anniversary, for instance – at a time specified by the wearer. Last but not least, the watch is outfitted with a ceramic bracelet with a rubber underside, which makes it remarkably flexible and comfortable.

Our offering has only been worn a couple times and is in superb mint condition. Comes in a full set of boxes and papers.

Covered by manufacturers international warranty (started in 03.2022).
