Vintage Breitling Premier Chronograph ref. 789 from 1950s – Venus cal. 178 Serviced, Blued hands

The Chronomat of the 1940s was a tool watch whose purpose was to enable its wearer to conduct mathematical operations with ease, while the Premier models were dapper dress pieces aimed at the guy in the corner office who cared more about admiring his watch than using it as an instrument. And indeed, as our photos will surely testify, there’s plenty to admire here.
The years have been more than kind to this superb timepiece. They have left its case mostly untouched and have lent its dial a beautiful balanced patina, against which the thermally-blued hands glisten invitingly. The latter do show some signs of corrosion, but these only add to the watch’s alluring old-timey aura. The only issue – in as far as it can be considered an issue – is the wear on the chronograph start button – possibly a replacement.
Inside, a freshly-serviced Venus cal. 178 is quietly ticking away.
Our offering is in very good & honest condition. The cherry on top – it comes outfitted with a quality leather strap.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
