Rolex Yacht-Master 40 Everose Gold on Oysterflex ref. 116655 – 2016, Box & Card

Introduced in 1992, the 16622 Yacht-Master has, in a relatively short time, managed to carve out a place for itself among Rolex’s most emblematic models – one that it partly owes to its historical significance. It was, after all, the first new model in the Swiss manufacturer’s catalog since the release of the 1964 Daytona Cosmograph. Rumor has it that Rolex originally intended it as a replacement for the Submariner but instead made a last-minute call to release it as an entirely separate model.
Whereas the Sub owes its popularity to the utilitarian aesthetic that defines it, the Yacht-Master opted for a more lavish appearance that has made it especially popular among luxury boat owners and lovers of the high seas. Coincidently, that is precisely its target audience.
In terms of aesthetics, the ref. 116655 stands out as the brand’s most distinctively modernist timepiece, and that’s in no small part thanks to its colorway. The generous luster of Everose Gold, turns out, is remarkably accommodating to the muted black of the Cerachrome bezel and its complementary dial.
This reference was the first-ever Everose Yacht-master, as well as the first Yacht-master to come outfitted with an Oysterflex bracelet and black Cerachrom bezel. It was an immediate hit when it made its debut back in 2015, and it’s an icon among icons today.
Last but definitely not least, the time-proven caliber 3135 is ticking calmly away, protected by the solid caseback.
Our offering is in superb condition and comes in set of box & card.

The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
