TAG Heuer has never been shy about celebrating its motorsports heritage, and why should it be? After all, some of Heuer’s most iconic models trace their origins to technical innovations conceived at the racetrack – it makes sense that TAG would strive to live up to this prized legacy. Decades after the iconic Carrera made its debut, the brand is still keeping the Carrera collection alive, continuously updating it to reflect the modern face of motorsports and the automobile industry. Cars have come a long way since the 1960s, and so has the Carrera Heuer. The ref. CAR2A80.FC6237 on offer here makes that easy to appreciate.
It is equipped with a 43 mm PVD-coated titanium case outfitted with a leather strap with distinctive red stitching. That latter mirrors the red chrono hands and crown, which give the watch that specific racing flair, especially since they are backdropped exclusively by blackness. The chronograph register’s layout further evokes automotive design – a dashboard, more specifically – and their silvery frames provide some welcome contrast. Last but not least, the Arabic numerals come in minutes instead of hours, which somehow makes one consider the minute more carefully, altering his perception.
The Grand Carrera is powered by the TAG Heuer caliber 17 – a 37-jewel COSC-certified automatic chronograph movement.
Our offering is in very good condition, comes with its original boxes (the inner part shows wear, something all of those tend to do) or papers, on a brand new good aftermarket replacement strap. Ticking per specs.
The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
