Having been founded in Saint-Imier back in 1832, Longines is one of the oldest Swiss manufacturers out there. The brand’s rich heritage is common knowledge among horological enthusiasts, as is the brand’s strict adherence to the standards it has set throughout the centuries. The watch on offer here is a further testament to the latter.
The Longines Legend Diver traces its roots back to 1960 – the golden age of amateur and professional diving. As vintage reissues go, the Legend Diver might very well be one of the best, capturing not only the general aesthetic of its predecessor but also its distinctive old-timey charm. It has similar proportions but a larger size than the iconic ref. 7042, a Super Compressor case, and a handsome 7042-inspired dial. Make no mistake, however – this is a thoroughly modern professional diver that comes outfitted with a screw-down crown and is water-resistant down to 30ATM.
The watch is powered by the ever-reliable Longines cal. L633 – an ETA cal. 2824-2 based one, which has 25-jewels and boasts a power reserve of 38 hours.
