Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Taille (GT) ref. 270.8.62 – Serviced & Polished, Blue Ostrich OEM Strap, Pitted dial

The Reverso is undoubtedly one of Jeager-LeCoultre’s hallmarks, as well as one of the most recognizable timepieces in the world. It has proved surprisingly timeless (given its humble origins), as evidenced by a design that has remained more or less unchanged since the 1930s. And why would JLC change it?
Created to be worn during Polo matches, the Reverso is wholly unique in both aesthetics and functionality. Flipping its case over was originally intended as a way to protect the dial during play, but it is rarely (if ever) used for that purpose nowadays. Nevertheless, collectors have not fallen out of love with the Reverso. Quite the contrary – it is more popular today than it’s ever been!
The ref. 270.8.62 Grande Taille is, in our humble opinion, one of the best-looking iterations of the model out there. It follows the classical dial layout of its iconic predecessor and measures at a balanced 26 mm lengthwise, which makes for a very comfortable and classy fit. Once strapped to your wrist, it’s hard not to wonder why more sports watches don’t come in this shape and size. However, since it is unlikely to be used in any sports capacity, the watch comes outfitted with a high-quality OEM blue ostrich strap.
Inside, behind the solid “caseback”, the JLC cal. 822 – a traditional, 21-jewel hand-wound movement boasting a power reserve of 45 hours – is calmly ticking away.
Our offering was professionally serviced and polished in 09.2021 and is in very good condition, with some minor flaws – the dial shows some pitting and the reference number on the caseback has faded due to previous polishing attempts. It comes with its original box.
