Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 41 Chronograph ref. 26320ST.OO.1220ST.01 – I-Serial, Black dial & Bracelet, Polished per OEM Specs

Designed by the legendary Gerald Genta, the Royal Oak is an experience that is hard to put into words – and that’s a good thing. Due to the limitations of photographic reproduction, however, we are obliged to give it a try.
The ref. 26320ST.OO.1220ST.01 seen here is one of the purest modern iterations of this legendary model. It comes equipped with a balanced 41 mm case, whose every surface has received the utmost care and attention, resulting in a level of finishing that challenges your expectations, however high those may be. Its complex geometry and satin finish give the watch a four-dimensional presence, which its beveled edges expertly soften. Of course, the integrated bracelet’s finish mirrors that of the case, and its tapered shape complements it perfectly. It also makes for a remarkably comfortable wearing experience. The detailed and symmetrical Grande Tappeserie dial might be the centerpiece of the design – both figuratively and literally – but no single element of this watch can be said to be more important than any other. It is their elusive alchemy that makes the magic happen. For example, whereas the octagonal bezel captures the light, the white gold hour indices and hands reflect it back at the wearer’s eye, producing a pleasing contrast while simultaneously enhancing legibility.
At the center of it all is the in-house cal. 2385, which comes alive when wound, resembling a scale model of a galaxy. Functions include chronograph, date, hours, minutes, and seconds.
