Eberhard & Co. Replica Chronograph Limited edition ref. 31008 – Sterling Silver 925, All original & Superb condition

Despite what you might have thought, the aptly named Replica collection – no, not that kind of replica – was introduced in 1982. Its whole shindig was mirroring – or replicating, hint-hint – the evocative designs of the 30s, 40s, and 50s in the hopes of recapturing their classic charm. In our humble opinion, those hopes were well-placed.
As far as the business side of things is concerned, the reason the collection exists is that Eberhard and Co had long achieved success as an independent manufacturer by the 50s, so they had plenty of NOS movements from the period lying around.
The watch on offer here – ref 31008 – was produced in a limited run of between 50 and 200 pieces (depending on who you ask) and is powered by the brand’s legendary chronograph caliber 310-8. Most notably, the model features a slightly oversized, pocket-watch-type case fashioned from 925 Sterling Silver and a beautiful enamel dial ornamented with elegant writing. At a time when vintage reissues were the exception rather than the norm, Eberhard and Co. knew exactly what they were doing. After all, it was their own history that they were recreating. It is precisely this history that the engraving on the flip-open caseback pays tribute to.
Our offering is in excellent condition and comes outfitted with a remake of its original leather strap accompanied with the original silver buckle. It was just serviced in 06.2021 by our in-house watchmaker and is ticking accurately.
