TAG Heuer has never been shy about celebrating its motorsports heritage, and why should it be? Some of the brand’s most important models trace their origins to technical innovations conceived at the racetrack and developed in collaboration with the biggest names in motor racing. It only seems right that TAG would strive to live up to the rich legacy it has inherited. And as far the watch on offer here is concerned, it looks like that’s exactly what they’ve been doing.
The Linear System Chronograph is a textbook example of reinterpretation done right. Instead of xeroxing the design of its iconic predecessor or “giving it a fresh new spin,” the LS Chronograph opts for an aesthetic that feels as modern today as the original Monaco did back in 1969. The watch comes outfitted with a sharp-edged stainless steel case, whose contemporary architecture is complemented by a faceted sapphire crystal and a snappy stainless steel bracelet. The side of the case sports a brushed finish, while the top section and lugs are polished to a high shine. The avant-garde dial, meanwhile, makes it obvious where the model gets its name – the current second is displayed by a horizontal linear indicator, and so is the date. The classic sword hands and applied indices are a nice contrast to the ultra-modern overall theme, and they lend the watch something of the past to bring into the new Millenium. The TAG Heuer LS Chronograph is powered by the Monaco Calibre 12 – a fittingly contemporary automatic movement, which operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a power reserve of 40 hours.
Our offering is in very good condition – it was serviced by the previous owner in early 2021, the case and bracelet were professionally polished, and the watch has only been worn a handful of times since. Comes with the original box (in poor condition) and the original warranty card.
