Rolex’s impact on modern watchmaking is, to put it delicately, noteworthy. For instance, the Swiss manufacturer has several models in its lineup that carry the name of the first-ever hermetically sealed case – the Oyster – which made its debut in 1926. The watch on offer here – the Oyster Perpetual ref. 15053 – dates to 1986, and it might well be one of the classiest interpretations of the patented design.
Fashioned out of steel and gold, the ref. 15053 combines the robustness of a tool watch with the prestigious air of a gold watch. The white dial is adorned with applied gold indices paired with black Roman numerals, and it contrasts the golden bezel, crown, and center links. The faceted gold baton hands complement the crisp, sharp lines of the case as well as help with legibility. Of course, the emblematic cyclops date magnifier also makes an appearance, tying the design together wonderfully. The ref. 15053 is powered by the renowned caliber 3135 – a certified superlative chronometer. The movement was serviced in 03.2021 by our watchmaker and is ticking accurately.
Our offering is in excellent condition, comes in a set of the original box and papers, and is outfitted with its Gold & Steel Oyster bracelet.
The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
