The Master Control Hometime is the type of watch Jaeger LeCoultre makes best – complicated, sophisticated, and individualistic.
By combining an avant-garde dial layout with a traditionally-minimalist steel case, JLC has once again demonstrated its capacity for out-of-the-box watchmaking. As should go without saying, the craftsmanship and attention to detail are just as deserving of praise as are the aesthetics of the piece, and the Jaeger 975 movement inside is nothing short of an engineering marvel. Introduced in 2004 and dubbed the Autotractor, it was the first of a new family of rugged calibers that featured ceramic ball bearings and a unidirectional rotor, thus increasing durability, extending the service interval, and improving efficiency. The transparent caseback proudly displays the finely-decorated movement, whose massive gold weight announces JLC’s Master Control 1000 Hours test – one of the most rigorous evaluation procedures used in watchmaking today.
