Vintage Rolex Ladies Oyster Perpetual 31 ref. 6548 – 1966, Champagne dial, Riveted bracelet

Rolex’s impact on modern watchmaking is, to put it delicately, noteworthy. For instance, the brand has a model in its lineup that carries the name of the first-ever hermetically sealed case – the Oyster – which Rolex introduced in 1926. The Oyster Perpetual on offer here came into being 40 years later – in 1966.
Since it is a ladies’ watch, the ref. 6548 is distinctly elegant, and, since it’s quite vintage, it evokes a rather conservative era in watchmaking. It sports a beautiful champagne dial, whose clean design complements the applied indices and lozenge hands. The three-link riveted bracelet tapers towards the clasp and therefore underlines the graceful demeanor of the 31 mm case. Despite its venerable age, the ref. 6548 retains both its charm and its brilliance.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 6548 is powered by the in-house calibre 1161 – a 26-jewel self-winding movement that boasts a power reserve of 42 hours.
