Universal Genève Compur Chronograph – 1937, Gilt dial, Extract from the Archives
An early example from the Universal Geneve Compur line – dated to 1937. The watch is a very rare and highly collectable piece in superb condition – all original and looking sharp. It has the Universal caliber 285 movement in it – recently serviced by our certified watchmaker and keeping perfect time, with all the chronograph functions working as they should. It has a very rare gilt coloured dial with Breguet Arabic numerals and a time switch track outer tachometric scale based on 1000, which continues with the central spiral of the dial and the middle telemetric scale. All the writings are yellow gold except the Universal Geneve and Compur logos. It is in perfect condition – aged nicely, untouched and with no damage at all. The case is stainless steel one with were interesting welded lugs with protectors on top of them as part of the case. Again in perfect shape – some normal wear. The hands are the original ones – leaf shaped with a blued steel central chronograph one – all in matching condition. Comes on a suitable new old stock (NOS) stretch bracelet and official Extract from the Archives by Universal Geneve.
