The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M features a familiar 42 mm steel case, its assertive architecture highlighted by a blend of fine hairlines and smooth, mirror-like surfaces. The matte-black dial achieves an excellent balance between information markers and empty space, marrying style with utilitarian functionality. A discreet date display at 3 o’clock gently disrupts the overal symmetry, and the SuperLumiNova indices ensure legibility in any and all environments. The double broad arrow hands, both well-defined and generously proportioned, contribute to the piece’s captivating retro aesthetic.
As a fully-fledged professional diving instrument, the PO 600M boasts a unidirectional ceramic bezel, a helium escape valve, and a screw-down crown and caseback, ensuring an impressive water resistance rating of 600 meters (2000 feet).
The remarkable in-house Co-Axial Chronometer caliber 8500, proudly showcased through the exhibition caseback, operates precisely to specifications. It features a free sprung-balance, two barrels mounted in series, and automatic winding in both directions. The bridges and the rotor are beautifully decorated with Geneva waves in arabesque.
