Breitling Chrono Cockpit A13358 Galactic Box + Booklet, Serviced

In 1884, the renowned watchmaker Léon Breitling founded Breitling SA, leaving an enduring legacy that melded his passion for horology with his sharp business acumen. A mere year after his passing in 1915, his son Gaston, a true inheritor of his father’s pioneering spirit, introduced one of the first wrist chronographs featuring a separate push-piece above the crown. In 1952, with Willy Breitling at the helm, the iconic Navitimer made its debut. It quickly became a favorite among pilots and aircraft manufacturers, marking the genesis of Breitling’s illustrious aviation legacy.

As its name eloquently suggests, the Chrono Cockpit Galactic is an extension of that same legacy.

The unmistakable Breitling design language grounds the A13358 in the aesthetic and achievements of its predecessors, yet the model effortlessly stands on its own merits. It’s hard to say whether it is the recognizable with its riders that draws the eye in first, or if its the sunburst dial with its aggressive Roman indices that makes it so hard to look away, but one thing is certain – this is as close to a perfectly-balanced watch as one could possibly get. At 39 mm in diameter – and thanks to its short lugs – it suits wrists both big and small, and at just under 14.8mm thick, it slides under the cuff with no hassle at all. After all, the technology manufacturers have access to nowadays surpasses that of the past. Nowhere is that easier to appreciate than when considering the movement that powers this beauty – the venerated Breitling Caliber 13, a COSC-certified chronometer and an undeniable technical achievement on Breitling’s part.
