The watch on offer here, therefore, is backed by a rich heritage in terms of both functionality and style.
The ref. 2265.80.00 Seamaster 300M Quartz takes a lot of design cues from its vintage predecessor but is nevertheless a thoroughly contemporary timepiece. It comes equipped with a familiar-looking 41 mm twisted lug case, whose sleek silhouette is underlined by a mixture of brushed and polished surfaces and beveled edges. The striking blue dial incorporates the iconic Seamaster wave pattern and is adorned with aggressive luminescent indices and sword hands. The case here is topped by a shiny polished aluminium bezel.
Obviously, a quartz movement has some drawbacks that we’re all familiar with, but is also allows for a much thinner profile and a noticeably lighter wrist presence. That inarguably makes for a more understated wear, plus it is associated with lower servicing costs. The caliber in question is the OMEGA 1538 – a rhodium‑plated precision movement that boasts a battery life of around 42 months. Quite impressive, as quartz movements go.
