The Panerai Radiomir S.L.C. 47 ref. PAM00425 is a timepiece that exudes both history and modernity. This hand-wound mechanical watch features the in-house caliber P.3000 with 21 jewels, providing a power reserve of 3 days and two barrels. The 47 mm case is made of AISI stainless steel, a material that has been Officine Panerai’s hallmark for its resistance to corrosion and hypoallergenic qualities. The austenitic (AISI) steel is not only reliable, but also resistant to extreme environmental conditions, which made it the ideal material for the Italian Navy’s commandos who used Panerai watches. The black dial of this Radiomir is also very intriguing, drawing inspiration from a rare and mysterious version of the Radiomir from the late 1930s, of which only two examples are known to exist. Panerai has named this dial the S.L.C., and it features luminous hour markers that provide excellent visibility in low light conditions.
