Despite not boasting a centuries-long history, Romain Jerome has had a notable impact on the watchmaking world. Founded in 2004, the brand has managed to carve out a place for itself among its seniors in an unusually short time. RJ’s watches star radical designs and employ an array of cutting-edge materials, which together make them both horologically exciting and aesthetically pleasing.
The watch on offer here – the Ceramic Arraw Marine Chronograph – incorporates several of the brand’s most recognizable design elements, including the rubber bezel claws and the straight lugs. The 45 mm round ceramic case draws heavily from the critically-acclaimed RJ Titanic DNA, so it clearly communicates the piece’s marine theme. While the dial’s use of arrow-shaped hands and plump Arabic numerals is entirely original, the arrow-shaped hour and minute hands appear across the brand’s line-up.
Inside the RJ Arraw Chronograph is the caliber RJ 2040 self-winding chronograph movement, which operates at 4Hz and has a power reserve of 42 hours.
