Vintage Tissot Three register Chronograph ref. 6216-4 – 1940s, Lemania C27-41H, Serviced, Unique find w Box

This chronograph dates back to the late 1940s and was made by Tissot – the renowned powerhouse of Swiss Watchmaking.
A quick glance at this watch reveals why those in the know often posit that modern Tissot can’t hold a candle to its vintage forefathers. In this specific example, we see a beautifully segmented white dial with all the functionality one needs behind its 3 sub-dials. Time has, naturally, left its mark on the dial, as few white dials are left unaffected by its steady march, but the patina only serves to add to the unique flavor of the piece. The golden hands and indices don’t so much shine through it, as they are complemented by its character.
The case measures 35 mm by 42 mm and is made entirely from stainless steel, which was seldom used for this purpose in the 40s and 50s. The lug to lug width is 18mm, which leaves just enough room for the smartly tapered dark-brown leather strap it comes on.
The overall condition of the chronograph is good, with the case showing some moderate wear. It’s powered by the celebrated Lemania cal. C27-41H (the grandfather of the almighty Omega cal. 321 that still powers the Moonwatch) and is ticking as strong as ever, having been serviced by our master watchmaker in 12.2020. The pushers and crown are, of course, entirely original. A unique collectors piece that comes with its original box.

The watch is covered by 6 months of limited warranty, starting on the day of purchase.
