Vintage Seiko World time GMT ref. 6117-6400 – 1974, All original, Serviced

As you probably already know, Seiko has a substantial history of watchmaking innovations. For example, many consider their caliber 6139, which made its debut in 1969, to be the first-ever automatic chronograph movement. Later that same year, their caliber 6138A was released, building upon its predecessor’s technical excellence. Nowadays, quite a few watches contain technologies that were first employed by Seiko or ones that are entirely unique to the Japanese brand, such as the vertical clutch.

The 6117 movement featured in this Seiko World Time is the first GMT movement Seiko ever constructed. This caliber was produced between 1968 and 1975, and it operates at 21,600 bph, utilizes 17 jewels, and boasts a power reserve of 47 hours. In this model, the orange hand is used in coordination with the inner rotating bezel to indicate the time in another time zone. More specifically, one needs to point said hand to one of the cities marked on the inner bezel to tell the time there.

Our offering is in excellent condition. It features no replacement parts, has just been serviced, and has only been lightly polished by the previous owner. The dial has never been reprinted, cleaned, or otherwise tampered with.
The watch comes with a brand new leather strap.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
