These aren’t the droids you are looking for, but this might very well be the vintage Seiko chronograph you didn’t know you were.
Dubbed the Stormtrooper Helmet by enthusiasts, the 6139-7100 comes outfitted with a funky 70s stainless steel case and a sleek fishbone bracelet. The dial’s black-and-white palette is what inspired the model’s nickname – which is undoubtedly among the coolest ones in watchdom – and the unique shape of the case is the obvious reason behind its popularity. The automatic chronograph features a single thirty-minute register at 6 o’clock, a day/date indicator at 3, and no seconds hand! (which does admittedly take some getting used to). Best of all, the movement ticking resolutely behind the plain caseback is the legendary cal. 6139 – a marvel of Japanese engineering, which once served as Seiko’s entry into the race to create the first automatic chronograph wristwatch.
Having just been serviced, our offering is in stunning condition – working perfectly, the dial, hands, and everything else is completely original and the case has never been polished. There are some minor scratches, but all the original finishes are present and the lines are as sharp as they ever were.
The watch is covered by 6 months of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
