These aren’t the droids you are looking for, but this might very well be the vintage Seiko chronograph you didn’t know you were. And just in time for the much-anticipated Obi-Wan series!
Dubbed the Darth Vader Helmet by enthusiasts, this 6139-7100 comes outfitted with a funky 70s stainless steel case and a sleek tapered OEM bracelet. The dial’s black-with-a-touch-of-white color palette is what inspired its nickname – which is undoubtedly among the coolest out there – and the unique shape of its case is the obvious reason behind its popularity, other than its ties to the most epic saga of all time. Being an automatic chronograph, the watch features a single thirty-minute register at 6 o’clock, a day/date indicator at 3, and no seconds hand, which does admittedly take some getting used to. Best of all, the movement ticking resolutely behind the unadorned caseback is the legendary cal. 6139 – a marvel of Japanese engineering, which once served as Seiko’s entry into the race to create the first automatic chronograph wristwatch.
Having just been serviced, our offering is in excellent working and great cosmetic condition, with some slight scratching on the case and caseback and some minor patina on the hands and indices. It dates to 1976 and features only original parts.
Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
