Vintage OPAL Military Chronograph with Landeron cal. 47 – In-Crown pusher, Serviced

The watch we have the pleasure of offering here is a rather rare thing – an actual, pure-blooded 1940s-1950s military chronograph. What’s more, it is powered by a mechanical marvel of equal rarety – an early Landeron caliber 47. As you may already know, this movement was produced in two iterations, with this one being the rarer of the two, incorporating a reset pusher mounted atop the crown. What makes this little watch even more special is the condition it’s in: both the gilt-black dial and its golden script are remarkably well-preserved, and the case barely shows any signs of wear.
It is unclear when and where exactly OPAL was founded, although some sources indicate it was at the beginning of the 20th century. One thing all the sources agree on, however, is that it has ties to Georges Favre-Jacot, who is most famous for founding Zenith.

This watch was thoroughly serviced in 02.2023 by our in-house watchmaker and is ticking well and all the functions work as expected. It comes outfitted with a suitable black leather strap.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
