The Constellation made its debut in 1952 and, thankfully, continues to be an integral part of Omega’s line-up to this day. When it first came out, it was quickly recognized as one of, if not the most technically advanced dress watch of the decade, and it undoubtedly introduced one of the most inventive and iconic designs of its era. Of all possible versions of the model, the pie-pan dial variation is the most sought after by collectors and brand-enthusiasts, and among the pie-pan dials, none stands out quite like the black dial ref. 167.005.
The dark color serves as an excellent backdrop for the thick applied indices, which give the already 3-dimensional dial additional depth. The sword hands and their aggressive shape perfectly suits the multifaceted dial. And while the stainless steel case gives off the impression of understated simplicity at first, it reveals itself to be remarkably geometrically complex upon closer inspection, with the extended lugs making the watch appear quite substantial when viewed from the side. The underside of the case is adorned with the unmistakable Constellation medallion, and underneath, the robust, chronometer-grade caliber 551 is ticking melodiously away. It was just serviced by our in-house watchmaker and is keeping good time.
Our offering is very good condition and comes outfitted with its original steel Omega Beads of Rice bracelet ref. 1503 with 70 endlinks.
The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
