IWC has long occupied a special place among watch manufacturers – a place that it owes to the values that its founder, Florentine Ariosto Jones, instilled back in 1868: fine engineering, foresight and innovation, and an excellent production system. The watch that we have the pleasure of offering here represents the culmination of those values.
The Ingenieur draws inspiration directly from IWC’s passion for mechanical engineering. The model was first introduced in the 1950s to meet the needs of engineers and scientists, so it boasted a shock-resistant movement, a robust, water-resistant stainless steel case, and an impressive anti-magnetic rating. The ref. 666 here dates to the 1960s and follows the aforementioned formula on top of incorporating a classy vintage look, which more and more manufacturers have been rediscovering lately. The specific example on offer here is from 1959, cased & delivered in 1960 and is in excellent, original condition, features no replacement parts, and has never been polished or otherwise tampered with. Best of all – it is powered by the renowned cal. 853, which was serviced in 10.2021 and is ticking accurately.
The watch is outfitted with a quality leather strap.
Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
