Tudor Oyser-Prince Submariner ref. 7928 Gilt dial – 1964, All original, Rolex 7206 Riveted bracelet

The Tudor 7928 is one of the definitive Tudor sports models and, unsurprisingly, is one of the most sought-after vintage Submariners. The watch saw a long production run from approximately 1959 until around 1968 – thanks in no small part to its extensive military use – and it came in many iterations that all featured slight variations over their predecessors.
The specific example on offer here dates to 1964 and is outfitted with a riveted, period-correct Rolex bracelet with a 1965 date code. The guilt minute-track and the silver dial script indicate that it’s an MK4, as do the crown guards, which are rounded instead of square as they would be on an MK1 or pointed as they would be on an MK2 or an MK3. This also tells us that the dial is original to the case or, at the very least, correct to the model. Notably, the lack of a luminous dot under the 6 o’clock marker or a line under the script is also consistent with the year of production, indicating that it features tritium instead of radium lume. Prior to 1963, a dot would denote a reduced amount of radium, while a line under the script would mark the nearly-complete lack of radium.
Last but not least, the 7928 Oyster-Prince is powered by non-other than the Cal 390, which was first seen in early Tudor automatics, most famously the 34 mm Tudor Oysters from the 1950s. It was just serviced by our in-house watchmaker and is keeping perfect time.
Our offering is in excellent condition and features no refurbishing, unoriginal parts, or tampering of any sort.

The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
