Whereas their bigger brother Rolex’s designs are as unchanging as they come in this industry, Tudor has never been shy about experimenting with its own. That’s just one of the things that make it, at least in our eyes, a true enthusiast’s brand. With a quality of construction and finishing often approaching that of Rolex, they are an unequivocally appealing option at their price point, but beyond it as well – or so the watch on offer here would indicate.
At a balanced 36 mm and sporting a silhouette reminiscent of both the Explorer and the Datejust, the Glamour Date wears beautifully on gentler wrists. Comfortably too, thanks to its sturdy three-link tapering bracelet. Ten beautiful diamonds glisten against the void-black backdrop of the dial, complemented by the polished surfaces of the case and bracelet. The asymmetry of the overall design is tastefully interrupted by a date display at 3 o’clock – a design trend started by the Datejust itself.
