In 1967 – prompted by the requirements of saturation diving, which was quickly coming into vogue – Rolex introduced the iconic Sea-Dweller. The 126600 50th anniversary SD43 pays reverence to the brand’s heritage and closely follows the design language of the original.
The SD43 features a helium-escape valve, which expels the helium gas that seeps into the case during prolonged deep dives. Speaking of depth, the watch is waterproof down to 4,000 feet (1,220 meters), which ranks it among the most advanced dive watches in the world.
Rolex developed the Sea-Dweller in collaboration with both the US Navy and French Comex divers, so its professional-grade specs are hardly surprising. It sports a 43 mm case in 904L steel, a cyclops-magnified date display, and a unidirectional 60-minute bezel fashioned out of ceramic.
Behind the brushed-steel caseback, the in-house cal. 3235 is ticking steadily away.
Our offering is in superb condition with only a few very hard to find hairpins. Comes in a very full set of boxes and papers – even the bezel protector is present, equipped with its original Oyster bracelet with the diving extension present.
Covered by manufacturer’s international warranty (started in 06.2018).
