Rolex Explorer I 36 ref. 114270 – M-Serial, 2007-2008, Very fresh

The Rolex Explorer has been evolving for over half a century, but its foundational principles have remained unchanged throught the decades – simplicity, reliability, and adaptability. It’s a sports watch, that much is clear, but thanks to its clean lines and sleek silhouette, it feels as much at home in the boardroom or the bar as it does on the mountainside. Of course, the latter is where the Explorer earned its reputation – Rolex designed it for testing on Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary’s 1953 expedition to Mount Everest. The ref. 1655 that Norgay wore can still be seen at the Beyer Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, which many consider an important site of horological pilgrimage.

The watch on offer here – the ref. 114270 – is a true-to-form traditional Explorer. It measures 36 mm in diameter and wears just like its iconic predecessor. It does, however, feature a modern case geometry complemented by a solid-endlink bracelet. It also incorporates an understated black lacquered dial protected by a flat sapphire crystal. Behind it, the cal. 3135 is ticking per spec.

Our offering is in very good condition and keeps time perfectly. Regrettably, it comes without any of its original boxes or papers.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
