Created in 1945, the Datejust was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date at the 3 o’clock position. Its pioneering aesthetic has since had an enormous cultural impact and, along with its revolutionary features, has elevated the model to the status of a horological icon. To put it plainly – the Datejust is the seminal classic watch.
This ref. 126300-0011 has the bright black dial which features the signature white gold hour markers and hands of the Datejust line and a date display at the 3 o’clock position. The watch itself also features a 41 mm stainless steel Oyster case, which provides water resistance down to 100 m (330 feet), topped by a smooth mirror-polished bezel. The asymmetry that the cyclops-magnified date display brings to the design is expertly balanced by a single luminous index at 9 o’clock.
Thanks to the new concealed attachment system, the sleek Jubilee bracelet transitions seamlessly into the case, making for a very dapper look.
The ref. 126300 is powered by the latest generation caliber 3235 self-winding movement, which boasts a power reserve of 70 hours and features Paraflex shock absorbers, a Parachrom Blue hairspring, a Chronenergy escapement, and a Paramagnetic Oscillator balance.
