Created in 1945, the Datejust was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date at 3 o’clock. Its timeless aesthetic has since had an enormous cultural impact and, along with its revolutionary features, has elevated it to the status of a horological icon. To put it simply, the Datejust is the seminal classic watch.
The example on offer here – ref. 116201 – represents a contemporary interpretation of its predecessor’s classic features. The watch comes equipped with a 36 mm Rolesor Oyster case, which expertly melds the versatility of Oystersteel with the warm luster of Everose gold. The gorgeous circles textured black dial also features applied rose gold indices. The blend of textures and colors on the watch and bracelet makes for a very compelling experience. The ref. 116201 is powered by the caliber 3135 – a certified Swiss chronometer. Since it has been recently polished by a master watchmaker, the watch looks perfect. It was just serviced as well and is ticking unsurprisingly accurately. Our offering is in excellent condition and comes equipped with its original Oyster bracelet, in a full set of boxes and papers.
