The Cellini is not the best-known Rolex model, but it is one of the oldest.
It so old, in fact, that no one is quite certain when exactly it made its debut. The underdog of the Rolex roster gets its name from the famous Italian sculptor and goldsmith, and it celebrates his legacy by emulating his work. As diverse as the Cellini collection is, it is unified by its tendency towards dressy sportiness bordering on elegance.
The example on offer here – ref. 3801 – dates to the 1970s, but its unconstrained design means it looks as contemporary today as it ever did (or ever will). It comes equipped with a graceful 26 mm case crafted from 18k Solid Yellow Gold and paired with an uncluttered matching dial adorned with gold indices. While the watch does exhibit some minor signs of wear, they only serve to highlight its vintage charm. Outfitted with its original leather strap and original solid gold buckle, this Cellini is a beautiful example of Rolex’s more gentle side. The in-house cal. 1600 inside was just serviced by our watchmaker and is ticking accurately.
Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
