Description
This Pierce Monopusher Chronograph is dated to the 30s. It has the very rare to find in working order cal. 130 movement in it – professionally serviced, cleaned and oiled and ticking strong. The quirky chronograph complication in it is the way a spring-loaded vertical clutch connects and separates movement and chronograph mechanism – the running flywheel disc gets pressed against the chronograph’s standing drive disc. Servicing it was quite a journey, but now the watch is keeping good time and the chrono functions perfectly. As for the appearance – it is a worn piece from the 30s, so the case and the pushers show some wear, mainly on the ring that holds the crystal. Dial has nice patina, some dots and dings here and there, but nothing major. Three scales found place on the dial – on the outer rim there is a telemeter scale, inside of it the minute scale, and a tachymeter snail curled around the dial center, allowing to measure speeds between 20 and 500 units per hour. The hands are this magnificent shade of blue – check the provided macroshots. For a watch from the 30s, it is fair condition and is a very valuable addition to any collection. Comes on a new brown Genuine Leather strap that matches the watch nicely.
Please note that in the macroshots everything looks a lot bigger and almost none of the imperfections (if any) are visible with naked eye in real life.
