OMEGA takes its maritime legacy very seriously, and rightly so – ever since the Seamaster made its debut in 1948, the brand has been at the very forefront of deep-water timekeeping and sporty-yet-dapper aesthetics. The watch on offer here, therefore, is backed by a rich heritage in terms of both functionality and style.
Тhe ref. 212.30.41.20.04.001 was made to mark the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, and it’s a worthy addition to the Seamaster Professional family, as well as a great example of why Omega has remained the official timekeeper of the Olympics for so long. It comes equipped with a familiar-looking 41 mm twisted lug case, whose sleek silhouette is underlined by a mixture of brushed and polished surfaces and beveled edges. The case is topped by a red aluminium bezel, and the cream-white dial is adorned with luminous dot indices, a stealthy date display at 3 o’clock, and skeletonized sword hands for the hours and minutes. As you have probably already noticed, the second-hand showcases the unmistakable symbol of the Olympic games. Produced in a limited run of 2010 pieces.
Inside, behind the commemorative caseback, the remarkable Co-Axial caliber 2500 is ticking steadily away. It incorporates 27 jewels, operates at 25,200 vph, and boasts a power reserve of 48 hours.
