It was with its maritime legacy in mind that Omega launched its Planet Ocean line in 2005, but it did so not to simply pay homage to that legacy, but to bring it to the new millennium.
The 600M SMP features a 43.5 mm steel case contrasted by a blue ceramic bi-directional bezel and a blue dial. The latter comes adorned with agressive trapezoid indices and arrow-shaped hands, as well as an orange-tipped seconds hand. Thanks to its helium escape valve and the screw-down crown, it is water-resistant up to 600 meters (2000 feet).
Last but definitely not least, the beautiful Omega Co-Axial caliber 8900 that powers this Master Chronometer certified timepiece can be seen through the exhibition caseback.
