The watch is a very early automatic Omega Seamaster ref. C 2577-11 SC with the inhouse cal. 354 Bumper movement. The bumper movement is named after the specific way the “rotor” moves back and forth at about 120 degrees (not like the modern day automatic movements, where the rotor spins freely in full 360) and bumps off a pair of springs on opposite sides of the watch. It is a very weird feeling wearing it on the first time one puts it on the wrist. Our offering is a stunning piece dated to 1952 by the movement serial number. The case has “fat” lugs and measures 34.5 mm in diameter and 41.4 mm lug-to-lug. Its dial has a textured pattern to it, the indexes are arrow head shaped gold ones and the hands are matching Dauphine style. The Seamaster logo is engraved on the caseback – a bit worn, but still visible. The overall condition is good – surely there is some wear, the dial has some patina, the crown and crystal are replacements, but the watch has been professionally serviced in 01.2020 and it’s ticking strong. Comes on a brown leather strap.
Covered by a limited warranty of 6 months, starting on the date of purchase.
